Community

Improving people’s lives through better, more sustainable environments is at the heart of what we do.
Our work has a lasting and positive impact on local communities. This commitment sits at the heart of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) approach. It’s strengthened by our people, who give their time and skills to support and improve their local communities.
2024 highlights
Social Bite’s Festival of Kindness
We joined Social Bite’s Festival of Kindness Campaign, a cause dedicated to supporting people facing homelessness in Scotland. The campaign focused on raising additional funds to build "Nests". These are safe and warm homes that provide an important stepping stone for individuals rebuilding their lives.
Our work with Guinness Partnership
We’re working with Guinness Partnership to deliver affordable housing and local community benefits to Newham in London. The borough ranks among the top 10% most disadvantaged local authority districts in England according to the IMD (Index of Multiple Deprivation). So far, we’ve donated to the local food bank, partnered with youth employment organisations, and plan to upskill residents and work with local schools to encourage community development and create long-term social value.
Through this resident-led approach, we aim to leave a lasting impact — giving people valuable skills, building confidence, and helping to create a vibrant new neighbourhood with a bright future.
Giving back to the community
Our colleagues across the world made regular donations to support local communities, from food banks to toy drives. In India, our team donated to the Smile Foundation and St Catherine’s Home for Children, benefiting over 350 women and children facing hardship.
After hearing professional wheelchair bodybuilder Bray Hofman’s inspiring journey of overcoming physical limitations with cerebral palsy, our US team came together to raise $1,300 USD to purchase him a new wheelchair.

Case study
Volunteering for the YMCA
In July 2024, colleagues from our Milton Keynes, UK office volunteered to decorate accommodation used by the YMCA to house young people that are currently homeless or care leavers. The new YMCA supported housing project will welcome up to 13 young people aged between 18-21, providing accommodation plus a range of support services designed to help them into employment and towards an independent future.
Lorraine Devereux, fundraising manager at YMCA said, “A huge thank you to the volunteers who dedicated a day to support YMCA with our new project. Their hard work focused mainly on the redecoration of bedrooms which really helped the YMCA team as we press ahead to make a house a home. For some young people, this may be the first time that they have had a room of their own, so thank you Currie & Brown, your support will truly make a difference to our young people”.
